Lessons

At Jefferson Valley Farm, Cindy provides instruction to Children and Adults.

Regardless of age we have a spot for you! Saddleseat and Huntseat instruction

availible on seasoned well trained show horses. Every student begins with

private lessons. Our lesson consist of 15 minutes teaching basic horse health

and care, grooming and tacking up their own horse, 30 minutes of riding

time, 15 minutes cooling their horse after their ride and untacking them.

For young children lessons usually last 30-45 minutes and 15-20 minutes ride

time till they build up strength for a 30 minute ride. For a beginner, it will

probably take about 7-10 private rides before you are ready for the group.

Every rider progresses at a different speed.Very young riders will need more

privates before riding in a group; it is very rare for riders under the age of 6

to be safe in the group. So very young riders should plan to remain in private

lessons. Even if you have ridden quite a bit before, we like to start with one

private so that we can place you in an appropriate group for your level of

expertise. We also provide lead line walks for those tiny tots under age of 4.

...we bet you know one little girl
who would rather clean a stall
                 than her own room!
...

What does it cost?

We give lessons Monday through Sunday. Private lessons are $30.

Group lessons are $25. We give lessons after school and into the early evenings.

ready to ride. Package Specials: 4 (private) lessons @ $110.00
