Horse Fan Badge*  for Brownies and Juniors scouts

$10.00 per scout                                      

One hour of fun, hands-on activities and interaction with our gentle horses. We've put together a curriculum based on the requirements as stated in the Girl Scout Badge Handbook:

• Learn safety rules when working with and around horses.
• The various types of instruction English/Western style riding taught at our farm are reviewed.
• Each girl has hands on experience grooming one of our horses.
• Learn about saddles, bridles, and grooming supplies and how to take care of them.
• We discuss Vet and Ferrier care for the horses
• Proper nutriton for horses to eat
• 1 hour visit, depending of the size of group (more than 10 scouts will be split into groups)
• for additional $5.00 per scout brownies may take a lead line ride.

Horse Riders Badge*   for Junior Scouts

$15.00 per scout                              

One hour of hands-on interacting with our gentle horses.  Troops are divided into groups of up to 6 for their riding lesson.   We have structured the riding lesson based on the requirements in the Girl Scout Badge Handbook:       .

1. Learn how to saddle and bridle a horse
2. Learn how to mount and dismount.
3. Learn and practice how to walk, stop, turn and move forward at a walk or trot showing the skills learned.
4. Learn how to properly cool out and safely put a horse away when finished exercise.

You may combine both badges into a single visit.  We offer a $5 discount per junior scout on the two badges, for a total cost of $20 per scout for both badges. 

*Troop leaders must print out the Registration and Liabily form. You may use the back page and have every scouts parents/legal gaurdian print Childs name along with parent/gaurdian signature and date.

* We fulfill the requirements for the badge; however badges must be purchased by troop or individual.
