If your love of horses is for fun, pleasure and recreation or for advanced and highly skilled competition, Jefferson Valley Farm in Burnt Chimney, Va., is the premier equestrian facility that offers something for everyone.  Lessons are open to men, women and children of all ages.

Jefferson Valley Farm is privileged to have Cindy Furrow and Paula Hege as its riding instructors.  Cindy and Paula are the most elite riding instructors in the area and hang their hats exclusively at Jefferson Valley Farm. They have competed on local, regional, state and national levels for many years. Both Cindy and Paula have won national titles and participated in and led various equestrian teams.

With a combined expertise spanning all riding disciplines, Cindy and Paula each ride and instruct in both English and Western of gaited and non-gaited breeds.  With direct one-on-one tutoring and with time and experience, many new riders quickly advance and participate with the show team riding Cindy and Paula’s horses.

Jefferson Valley Farm is nestled among the trees with breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and its valleys.  The farm consists of pristine pastures for boarding horses.  A unique feature of the farm is its double-boundary fencing. Outside the many paddocks, pastures and exercise areas there is another fence that provides extra security for the horses.  The main barn has 10 stalls, each with its own fan and heat to keep the horses comfortable year round.   Additionally, there are two cross-tie stalls for grooming and saddling the horses.  An extra large tack room houses the 15+ English and Western saddles, pads, bridles and of course -- the numerous trophies and ribbons.  The oval practice and training arena is official competition size with painted wooden rails and gate.  The outer portion of the arena is fitted with a mix of gravel and sand to create the perfect track and footing for the horses.  The center of the arena is natural for lunging and instruction in a smaller area. 

All of the horses at Jefferson Valley Farm have been professionally trained and are seasoned lesson and show horses with exceptional ground manners.  Cindy and Paula proudly maintain some of the most highly-trained and safest horses in the industry and are experts in partnering the right horse with the right rider. Cindy and Paula are well known for their riding and training skills and for their ability to make learning and riding safe and fun for everyone!
